Paul and Lucille Hassman Scholarship

Harvest Church is proud to offer the Paul and Lucille Hassman Scholarship to students. This scholarship has been established to help high school graduates in financial need with the cost of tuition at an accredited college. Students are eligible to apply for this scholarship after their first year of college and may re-apply each year they are continuing their pursuit of a college degree. Past recipients will not be given an advantage over others who apply in any given year. Students must apply to be considered for the scholarship. The successful applicant will be active in a Protestant church and remain active throughout his or her post-secondary education and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applications must be submitted by July 1 to Harvest Church either in person or by mailing the application to Harvest Church, 481 South Linn Ave. New Hampton, Iowa 50659. Joseph and Nellie Vaitulis Scholarship

The Joseph and Nellie Vaitulis Scholarship is offered through Harvest Church. The scholarship will be awarded based on several considerations, including: First preference will be given to active participants at Harvest Church. Leadership, service and active participation in the life of the congregation will be particularly important. Youth who are active in the Harvest Church youth program, but active participants in another congregation for other purposes will be considered next after active Harvest Church youth. Additional preference will be given to students whose parents are actively and primarily engaged in farming. Other factors that may be considered include community service, extra-curricular activities, field of study and GPA. The number of scholarships available will be determined by the Christian Education Board each year, not to exceed a maximum of eight. The scholarship amount may vary from year to year, as scholarships will be taken from the interest available and the scholarship will be paid to the school in which the recipient is enrolled. Students are eligible to receive the scholarship for a total of eight semesters. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) to continue to receive the scholarship. Applications must be submitted by April 30 to Harvest Church either in person or by mailing the application to Harvest Church, 481 South Linn Ave. New Hampton, Iowa 50659 To view and print the Joseph and Nellie Vaitulis Scholarship application, please click here.
