Everest: 2015 Vacation Bible School
August 3 -6, 2015, Harvest Church held four days of Vacation Bible School
centered on the theme of "Everest." The event featured Bible stories, science
experiments, singing, snacks, games and a great time together. 47 children
were divided into six teams, each with an adult leader. The teams rotated
through a series of stations with activities that reinforced each day's lesson.

Julie Schwickerath took the lead in planning and putting on the VBS, and a
host of volunteers stepped in to do the various jobs that make a creative,
active time for the children.

The four day event centered on a different theme each day. The "climbers"
learned that God has the power to provide, comfort, heal and forgive. The
Mt. Everest theme was emphasized by various Himalayan animals who
reinforced the messages.

Pastor Doug Harvey commented, "For many of us, including me, VBS is the
first place we learned the truths of the Bible. Harvest was privileged to get to
invest in these young lives, and we know that what these kids learned about
God's love will stick with them for a lifetime."

The children also learned about sharing their faith by raising money to
purchase 82 Bibles in the Thai language for children in Thailand.
